Back on March 18th and 20th, I spoke about a solution to encase the nuclear reactors in Japan. On April 18, 2011, NHK World wrote that TEPCO (the operator of the Fukushima nuclear plant) will spray a chemical hardening agent (polymer emulsion used in construction sites) around the reactors to prevent migration of dust radioactive dust and soil and that TEPCO has been testing this since April 1st. They plan to spray this around the plant until the end of June and then cover the reactors with filter curtains.
While I find it interesting that they are suddenly using a hardening agent to spray, I wish they would listen to what I suggested will work to contain the radiation and seal the reactors.
In conversation with the chemical engineer I referenced in my March 20th post who worked many years in the nuclear field, it was discussed that liquid ceramics (combined with the other ingredients suggested) could also be distributed across lands around the reactors using remote controlled crop-dusting planes. Deserted roads could be used as mini runways. They could fly in circles in lands around the reactors and then form grids to ensure all land targeted is contained. There could be remote filling of tanks. If operators need to be within the contaminated range, they can be housed in lead shielded vehicles with ample ventilation and filters. The remote control technology exists. (One example) Why is TEPCO not using it?
Of course, all animals and people remaining in the surrounded area would need to be removed before this is done. Compassion and respect needs to be shown for all life. No more karma should be created by not taking care of all life.
