I did see it all. Lest we forget? Who is “we” or is it lest “I” forget. Who is learning from the horrors, the brutal murders and the genocide of so many?
I am a survivor of WWII. I saw and tasted it too. I see with sadness that throughout the ages we have not learned to stop the hatred, greed and racism. No one is stopping the greedy weapon manufacturers – the ones who never have enough. No one ever took full stock of the loss of life. Are people aware that Germany came out on top in Europe and are again calling the tune of hardship?
Was there ever truth in full exposure of the ones who made the decisions? Those who died included hundreds of thousands of gypsies, millions in Russia, young soldiers from Britain, Holland, France, Belgium, Italy, Canada, the USA and other countries as well as First Nations’ from North America. And lest we not forget the Jews, Protestants, people of colour and dissidents. Remember too the betrayers of people who informed on others and the ones who would then make decisions on who would live and who would die..
Religious hatred needs to end. Know that all are part of creation. Some need to grow respect and change to learn to honour all life. Otherwise, Remembrance Day is a farce. Learn from the pain now. Don’t forget that you could be next. Say no to wars.
In the name of overpopulation, every 60 to 70 years, you can find a war which kills millions. Who is it – the devil, bloodthirsty devils or rotten thrill seekers?
Say NO.
